I’m at the Steampunk CommuniTea Weekend!

I have to tell you, when David Lee Summers posted up about the Steampunk CommuniTea Weekend (https://davidleesummers.wordpress.com/2021/04/06/steampunk-communitea-weekend/), I was a little skeptical about my ability to get immersed into a virtual conference. I have ADHD, and I’m also a visual/Kinesthetic type, but it was free, and, to be honest, what the heck else am I doing right now (well, aside from writing and work, and pestering my kitties during their afternoon naps)?

But, to my surprise, I am LOVING the conference. It’s my first virtual conference, and it is rocking. I love the discord panels best of all, but the Zoom events are so wild and fun as well!

Definitely would recommend that you all check it out! It’s a blast! And most of the events are free!

And, besides, it’s your kitty’s naptime. Stop bugging them, and come chat with us at the conference!

It’s today and tomorrow!

    1. It’s great fun! And there’s art panels re: costume design and what have you. I think someone said the Zoom panels were being recorded and were going to appear on YouTube…I think there was a rag rug panel and a tassel panel…and lots about fashion and accessories, of course!

    1. I’m not really an expert, but I do like the clothes as an alternative to the goth culture I was in, in my younger days. And I loved Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea when I was a kid.

      1. Did you have a chance to attend any of the panels? I think on their discord and such, the group that hosted and organized the conference is planning on having weekly, regular events and talks or something like that…

      2. I thought I was following you already, but wordpress has these weird glitches. I am trying to sign up for your blog posts but it’s saying “make a selection” but there’s not selection to be selected from?

      3. Yep, I wasn’t following you any longer (not on purpose). That happened a little while ago with another blogger I’d been following for a long time. So, anyway, I went in through my reader and looked up your blog and I now seem to be re-following you through the reader anyway. That’s where I usually check posts these days, anyway, so it’s all good! (Until the next time WordPress glitches again!). 🙂

      4. Yeah, I’ve learned to try to check in after the Pacific Paratrooper/GP Cox incident if I haven’t had a post from a blogger I follow appear in my blog recently. But the last year/two years have been crazy and not just cuz of the pandemic. It was impossible to get internet in New Mexico. Or cell phone service. So I was getting up at 3 am to use internet at a family member’s place before I went to the day job. A lot of things fell by the wayside then.
