I have been not keeping up with my blog reading and social media like I hoped to.
I got sick with a bug that’s been going around–I haven’t been sick like this since I was a kid.
And then there’s the heart-and-soul sickness as caused by the continued depravity and the corruption of the Trump administration.
I did manage to go out for the No Kings protest here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1B7UTfvAez/
I’m just feeling pretty bleak this week, and not in a delightfully maudlin Gothic way: https://kirstenleebarger.com/2026/03/29/mistakes-were-made-by-me/
So…Canada, or Mexico? What do you all think?
*wry laugh*
Java Bean: “Ayyy, I think Mexico! Of course, I am originally from Baja, so …”
Thanks for the vote, Java Bean…I grew up in Florida, and I really miss having grapefruit and orange trees, and pineapple plants, in my backyard!
Sorry to hear that. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks!
You’re welcome.
Am sorry to hear. Hop you feel better soon.
Money says people prefer Canada, but Mexico is a lot cheaper. Spanish is not a hard language to learn.
Yeah, and I grew up in Florida, so I have a pretty good baseline. Once I start speaking Spanish (again) on a regular basis, it starts coming back. Plus, Walmart has free language courses that I am also taking. 🙂
Yeah, there really is no bottom to this particular barrel that’s been installed in the White House …
Hey – I just read this. I’ll talk to you soon.
Hang in there!

Go Canada. I love Vancouver, but it is wet. Hamilton would also make my list. Near Toronto.
I’ll check out places around Toronto…it’s close by for sure! 🙂
As you know, I’ve been away myself. I’m hoping you’re feeling better now? And as much as I love Canada, it’s harder to get into. If you want a speedy escape, I’d say Mexico. But really, either way you go, it’s better than here! Sure hope you’re feeling better, physically if not also mentally.
I get it!
I’m Canadian and I’m sick to my stomach about what’s happening in the US.
Still, he won’t live forever.
It is terrifying, especially for one like me that grew up in the 70s and 80s…
