The past week I’ve been bouncing around like an ADHD-fueled ping-pong ball.
I have gradually come to realise that I need to…simplify things…clarify things…narrow focus…sort out priorities (short term and long term)…set primary goals…streamline things…blah blah blah.
I mean, the fact that I thought I was on top of things even with all the moves and life upheavals and mid-life transitions and such was proven wrong when I discovered just today that I had a whole slew of responses in a WordPress “inbox” I didn’t even know I had. These responses dated back to 2021.
Here’s an example of a response I may have missed, to my great chagrin: https://dragonscaleclippings.wordpress.com/2023/05/25/fantasy-horror-and-faeries/
I’ll skip the boring backstory details, but I’m just going to take a sabbatical until I get my ship stabilized, or at least, more storm- and extreme-weather ready.
I’m planning on tackling a few things like getting a full-length horror manuscript written, working towards my (potential) Canadian immigration, and doing my last-ditch attempt to get a job in any of my professional/educational fields (history, public history, advocacy, nonprofit, animals, marketing/publicity, outreach, organizational change, etc etc.).
I’m hitting pause on all my social media and even contributing to Horror Tree until I get things sorted, but if any of you all (especially since we’ve been following each other’s blogs for FOREVER) want to chat about random stuff or network via email, feel free to reach out at croftwillow at outlook.com.*
I think as part of my grassroots approach, I am dreaming of building a stronger network of community through contact that has the potential to be more direct and relationship orientated.
So, feel free to connect via email, and I’ll try my best to answer when I can.
*I made a mistake in the email and fixed it shortly after I posted this post.
That link leads to a private site that needs permission to open, Willow.
Ah, thanks! I couldn’t see it either, but I thought it was just me being a numpty.
God luck with it all – especially the Canadian immigration.
Gwen.
Thank you!
I’ll miss your poetry. See you when you come back. 🤣😎🙃
It sounds like you do need to catch your breath. I mean, that’s a lot! Are you able to write down a priority list, so you don’t spend all your energy on trivial things and then run out of fuel before you do the important things?
Taking regular breaks from all the craziness is very necessary. May you have lots of moments just sitting and staring off into space, along with all the other things you’ve got planned. 😀
Ha, you read my mind. Trying to “schedule” plenty of reflection and musing time!
